I agree, with our ownership model transparency is key. That said I don’t think it’s a particularly controversial thing to say that any manager we employ is up against it when they seek to keep us in this division for longer than a couple of seasons. That isn’t a ‘little Exeter’ mentality it’s...
I think whilst publicly acknowledging what a good job GC did in the end (how could you do otherwise?) you’re guilty of constantly seeking to caveat his ‘success’, as with your desire here to believe Hawker’s more generous story about our budget and accusing GC of obviously wanting to put it out...
So Hawker’s word is the one to be believed, Tagg and GC’s less so?
None of us really know, but the figure that gives GC less credit for our mid table finish is the one the usual suspects hang their hat on I see. 🙄
BTW if anyone thinks that John Radfords millions won’t elevate Mansfield's budget...
There’s plenty not inclined to give GC credit even when you compare the budget league table with the actual league table.
I think the biggest factor in offsetting our low end budget maybe the quality of our current manager IMO.
Attendances obviously contribute to the budget but it depends how much privately owned clubs are augmenting their budget with their owner’s money, an option not available to us. So I would guard against the theory that says that our crowds are better than ‘such and such’ club so why are we...
Interesting to hear in the latest MNFC pod with GC that we had the 2nd lowest budget in league one last season. That statement being contrary to what Nick Hawker said during the ‘100 days’.
They’re necessary because we’re now outwith the EU single market and we treat the EU like every other jurisdiction who export food into the UK.A food consignment from Romania was refused just the other day as it was deemed unsafe. 🤷♂️
It occurs to me that the same people who were apt to be...
The fiercely secular French state (notably schools) struggles big time with community integration it is said, perhaps there’s something to be said for faith schools British stylee. 🤷♂️
The situation around the NI/GB border was said to be unnecessarily prescriptive when compared to other countries bordering the EU’s single market, Barnier boasted about weaponising the GFA I seem to recall.
I couldn’t tell you, and I totally understand the argument that says if we didn’t want to put costs on our trading relationship with the EU then we shouldn’t have voted to leave, but it’s been a factor in our negotiations with Brussels that they have consistently sought to be unduly punitive in...
Forgive me Art, but where you cheer Brussels on in their attempts to punish the UK, some of us have a more judgmental attitude to their actions.
In many aspects of the leave agreement there was a deal to be done, but perhaps understandably but still vindictively Brussels chose to make our...
These particular costs are totally consistent with our decision to leave the EU and are totally necessary, not least because Brussels in its usual vindictive way insisted on them for the get-go. The UK is playing catch-up after delaying their implementation.
Important to note also that in a...
EU subs or sovereign nation status, 50% of the UK’s overseas development dosh being spent on hotel costs for illegal immigrants and a significant number of our fellow Brits enjoying a significantly more advantageous fiscal position in our so called equal Union.
But hey, you carry on getting...
The BF only exists to send more money to the devolved nations, none of it based on need incidentally. Scots get circa 20% more spent on them simply because they’re Scots nothing else.
What drivel you write.
The UK is made up of four clearly distinct and historically recognisable nations. One of which is England, we know that because folks like you have blamed your hated Brexit on the English ever since the referendum. You’ve never sought to balkanise England before when...
