Is our pitch ready? no thought not ;)
We played Palace at Tiverton last seaon for the same reason (trhe game when Matt Taylor did his back in).

17 days for the pitch to be ready for the Derby game.

I'd bite their hands off for anything over £300k.
Well, if he goes for 350k then it's no wonder the small clubs are in the sh*t. We are expected to pay 75 - 100k salaries for cr*p yet might have to sell arguably our best player, who has already made the grade at a young age, for 300k? The most we can hope for then is to tread water in Div 1. Not much point paying the salaries of our coaching staff to develop players only to have to give them away. There has to be a better system than this.

Welcome to the real world. Money doesn't talk, it screams. Championship clubs can pay 3 x the wages of L1 clubs, and get £4.25 m a year from the Sky money as against our £375k. They also have 2-3 times higher gate receipts.

Unless tribunals are prepared to award realistic compensation, the reality of the situation is that richer clubs can take away young talent from lower league ones more or less at will.

Of course if Dunne was on a long contract things would be different - see earlier in this thread.
