If we reach the playoffs , and given our inconsistency we may well not , I somehow don’t fancy playing our possible fellow contenders , Mansfield , Tranmere and FGR given their firepower and our lack of it.Still , as we proved to our cost in the last two Wembley finals anything can happen , and with City , probably will.

Astonishing.oldham were 15th two hours ago. Now they are just seven points behind FGR in sixth, with a game in hand. Did the list of teams with a play off chance extend to 15th place?

No, I went to 10th to save work but will do the necessary if folk think it useful.

JW - sorry, my question was meant as rhetorical. I would give it a weekend or two before adding anyone . It is the same old story with play off places for finishing 7th and three points for a win - a chance of some team making a late unexpected run.

There is always that side that make a late surge and end up being the team to avoid in the playoffs - I think that’s going to be Swindon.

As has been pointed out, Swindon have a very promising fixture list for the remaining 7 matches and could very well challenge for the playoffs. On the other hand, Carlisle and Colchester have challenging fixtures and have only 6 games remaining. Looking at the maths, if we can win 4 of our remaining matches we should be ok.

Revised remaining fixtures, now including Newport and Oldham who are back in the melting pot after we lost and Swindon and Newport drew last night.

Technically Northampton, Crewe and Stevenage could still pip everyone else for the last playoff place, but it looks unlikely to me so I have left them out.

Lincoln look home and hosed, they only need 3 points or maybe 4 if their GD advantage collapses, from 5 games, even if Bury win all theirs. Question is whether they will do a Doncaster and ease up after they are promoted.

Tranmere now play four of the top 7, three of these at home, so have a decent chance of edging out one of Milton Keynes, Bury and Mansfield for the autos. Milton Keynes v. Mansfield on the last day looks tasty.

Having reviewed the fixture list as posted by JW I rule out Colchester and I never fancied Newport.
So for me 2 places from
FGR
City
Carlisle
Oldham
Swindon

I think we need to get 6 points (minimum 4) from these next two home games if we are going to make the playoffs.
