Yes fuelled by non UK citizens taking all the best jobs.
Thats been the case for a while, what the U.K. has done is to attempt to end unfettered unskilled Labour which has the habit of driving down wages for low and medium earners.
Those “best jobs” are available to all of course, just invest in your own education and skills.

Edit.
Starmer and Labour are making some great noises on the training and upskilling of British workers BTW.

Sounds like plans are afoot to try and stop the pimping out of English uni's:

Could all be hot air, but if it isn't, it's not before time.
Typical Conservative stupidity. In order to artificially lower the immigration numbers, we're going to shrink the one demographic that we know pays a ton into the economy and takes very little out.

It won't happen anyway. As soon as the landlords that rent luxury accommodation to rich foreign students get wind of it the plans will be scrapped

A third person comes forward in the Dominic Raab bullying allegations.

So did the Reverend Blair and New Labour which saddled us with too many graduates with worthless/useless degrees.

Will the great noises have any end product ?

Also worth noting that according to government figures in 2017, 97% of international students left the country after their studies. So bringing the numbers down is going to make barely any difference to net migration anyway.

Wouldn't degree/apprenticeship be the way forward instead of going to Uni full time? Then that way the skills, Life experience will be more valuable?

This is madness. The USA bailed out Europe (again) by chucking piles of stuff Ukraine's way. Then they go ahead with plans for a clean energy industry in the USA and get a bit of help and the EU complain.

Makes you wonder about the whole climate thing when the EU are whining that the yanks are actually doing it...

There’s the rub Al. The first part in solving any issue is to recognise the problem in the first place.
Beautiful Boris made similar noises and and made some policy decisions, but I wonder as with a lot of his program whether without the pandemic it would’ve been realised more than it was.

Sometimes the person who can spot and identify a problem is not the person to deliver the solution; or the other way round.

Covid certainly dealt Boris and his cabinet a very shitty set of cards but I am not convinced it would have been any better even had Covid not rocked up. Too many untalented cronies in his team and with his overriding desire to be loved and his boosterism he was never going to take the necessary tough decisions.
