Joe had a pretty solid game today playing in front of the Tivvy back four. Nothing eye catching, but did what he needed to on and off the ball. Subbed late on for ex-City youth Jack Veale as much for fresh legs and a bit of added height whilst chasing an equaliser.
Mitch made a difference when he came on for his fellow first year pro, attacking midfield loanee Jerry Lawrence (from Bristol Rovers). Lawrence really struggled to get into the game and Mitch probably had more touches and passes in the first two minutes he was on. He was immediately the best technical player on the pitch in terms of touch and passing. He also provided some decent crosses later in the game when he switched to left wing. He did get booked for going down easily under a challenge which I thought was a bit harsh, just don't give the pen and get on with it. Almost got a second yellow for frustration when a throw in went against him late in the game but didn't throw the ball into the ground as hard as he was going to and got off with a "calm down" from the ref.
Tivvy will be a bit aggrieved to lose late on, on the counter attack after a much improved second half display. Hungerford were much better in the first half but couldn't find a way past the rock solid Jamie Jones in defence. Niall Thompson is still a handful at this level but Tivvy do look like they lack...dare I utter...a decent striker to lead the line. Going on the second half, the play looks more promising under the new manager.
Now nicely thawing out at home with a shepherd's pie in the oven. Absolutely freezing up there this afternoon.

For those of you who have given up hope on our first year pro's bear in mind that Josh Key couldn't break into Tivvy's starting line-up at that age and had to drop down a division to get game time at Bideford.

To all those insisting that Sonny Cox should be starting for us check this out, can't even get a start with Yeovil!
Wonder why players that have left or loaned out are suddenly considered to be the answer to all our prayers!
Ben Seymour would be tucking them away now!

I have seen no one insisting that Sonny Cox should start for us.
He needs to get experience lower down the leagues. He showed in the games he has played for us that he is not ready for L1.
