Well done to their fans etc but it's not sustainable fans coughing up for wages etc, The administration/sale future of the club needs to be sorted ASAP. Doesn't a club have to lodge funds or show they can full fill fixtures at the beginning of each season? If so it'll take more than bucket shaking to achieve that.

All seems a bit suspicious to me, a quick 'back of a fag packet' calculation;

£22,422 divided by £10.42 [minimum wage] = 2154 hours work divided by 36 hours per week = 59 person's wages.

Now i can't for a moment think that any Torquay player, be they part time or full time, or club official is on a National Minimum wage .....................

The original tweet is (deliberately?) misleading. The 'Yellow Army' may have raised the £22,422 ...but the monthly wages - massively more than 22k - have been paid out also of Torquay United's income from matches - there's been a few recently, mostly with decent crowds. A 3,000 crowd for just one game will have of course raised far more than £22,422.

The 22k raised is presumably fundraising. Payment of wages this time has come largely from matchday income, as it will until the end of the season (after which...?)

And whilst it's good news that wages have been paid, it doesn't say whether the tax and national insurance deducted from those wages has either been set aside or paid to HMRC. That's the next hurdle..

Still dragging their feet regarding administration, Apparently its been deffered. I'm of the thinking it's all a little strange as normally when the intention to go into administration and actually going in is done pretty quickly but not in this case.

Got to watch Osborne like a hawk. Issuing the notice of intention (to enter into Administration) gets Torquay's creditors off the club 's back for the time being, because it means that creditors can't enforce their rights. Its supposed to be a very short period before actually entering into administration, but extensions/deferrals can be abused...

Personally I think it is utterly ludicrous to take points off any team unless or until it does actually go into administration.

What is the point it only makes the whole situation on the playing side more difficult to manage.
