Just as a follow up to my speculative post I have now attempted to.match up the Man City players with our own (potential) City stars.
I'm not all that big on The Prem or even International football but applying the scant knowledge I have about players qualities perhaps we can now watch top flight football on TV and feel that we are somehow involved. Here's my handy little pocket guide.

Coles - De Bruyne
Woods - Rodri
Harris - Bernardo Silva
Demi Mitchell - Doku
Aitchison - Grealish
Jev Brown - Foden.
Carroll - Kovakik
Alli - Haarland
Cox's - Alvarez

Enjoy!

Bit of fun....
Coles stays
Woods signs up
Harris comes in for another year
Demi Mitchell signs up
Aitchison fit and ready
Jev Brown becomes available
Carroll signs up.
Alli fit and ready.
Cox's development continues.

OMG What a creative strike force! The Manchester City of league 1 or just too many egos to handle? Your choice....
We sacked Danny Coles in 2014, do keep up lad !

I'm sure he said 15 or 16 earlier in the season! Anyway I make it 12 recognised first-team players signed up for next season, 13 if you include Jake Richards and 14 if Zak's contract extension is sorted out. Therefore, as long as no-one under contract leaves we are pretty much up to that target.

MacDonald
Purrington
Aimson
Fitzwater
Sweeney
Harper
Diabate
Cole
Niskanen
Cox
Alli
Aitchison
I would also anticipate Watts getting an extension as he has been a finisher recently along with the injured Wildshut, so with Jules and Richards that makes 16, along with the nippers.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Woods back on Loan and Harris as well to complete a full season with us. Sinisalo will be loaned out to the championship, so Saturday will be the last we see of him in the Blue/pink/orange of ECFC. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Demi re-signing if he does with the other two that would make 19.

Be interesting what happens with Carroll and whether he signs on again, whilst our central defence is pretty much sorted we will still need wing backs to replace Rankine, a couple of strikers to replace Eisa and Muscrat and a goalkeeper (wouldn't be surprised to see Dawson at Rovers unfortunately)

The conundrum is Harry Lee and what is going to happen to him, being a goalkeeper from the academy is always going to be difficult to break through and I would have thought that next season would be his year to do so, however no news yet and only the exeweb grapevine surmising he is on his way, his agent is probably touting his name around and feeding him with promises of potential great moves but is now really the right time for him to move on. if he does he does but.....

Have we ever had a loanee back for a second season? Unless they become permanent signings I'd be very surprised to see any of the loanees back next season.

Didn't TAH have more than one loan spell? Not sure they were consecutive loans though - likewise Glenn Crowe.

I believe Troy A-H signed on loan from Spurs for the second half of one season then returned on loan for the first half of the next.
I think that maybe a possibility with Harris, especially as he was due to be here for a full season anyway.
That’s where the similarity ends though as Troy then signed for us permanently which isn’t going to happen in Harris’ case!

Jake Taylor signed a few years after a loan spell from memory.

Marcus Martin or the other lad from Plymouth back in the mid 2000's is my guess? Sure one of them came for a second season, But don't know that, just a guess.

just seen TAH mentioned. Had forgotten about that
