He left us in the autumn of 2022. I was referring to his departure then (yes, I know it was to Rotherham originally). However, he was a loss to us at that point and his rocking up at Rovers is their gain now. My post was never about him coming back to us. An earlier post of mine made the point...
Absolutely sure that Rovers gain is very much our loss. I also think, had he gone to a different team than Rotherham, he might well have done better in the 2nd tier. If he does well at Brizzle he still could in years to come, possibly even with them. I wish him nothing but good fortune.
Not overly worried about MT not coming back here. Water under the bridge now and returning managers rarely work in any event. George Friend chose Rovers over us too. Also, I am fairly certain that Wayne Carlisle will join them shortly.
Frankly, I am more concerned with where we are now and...
When I was on the TB, people attending in person certainly did. Zoom or Teams were not an option then, but I can't see why any remote attendee would be excluded.
I saw little last night to increase my optimism level. Much of the time we struggled to keep the ball. There was a higher degree of effort than at Bolton on Saturday but it wouldn't have taken much and actually resulted in very little effect. Cole was unlucky with the free kick but that was...
Sadly I saw nothing tonight that gave me much optimism. Shrewsbury were poor, but their performance was no worse than ours and, on balance, I would say they were marginally better.
I was left feeling that a more decent opponent would have won that game. Unless something changes I can see Port...
Whilst I, obviously, want us to win, Shrewsbury's away record is dire and the law of averages suggests a win for them. At best 0-0. I just cannot see where our goals would come from and I can see an unexpected win just being a brief respite. I've not felt like this for as far back as I can...
You are right about this. A significant amount of work was done some years ago to try and trace historic shareholders and I believe quite a bit of progress was made. However, the work was rather pointless as there has been no forward movement since.
Something that concerns me is the way that the club board has expanded like topsy in recent times. I have seen very little justification for this or rationale of why. OK they are probably not receiving much, if any, remuneration but is a board of that size really necessary? Companies House...
On the club Facebook page there is a video of the players coming out of the changing room for the warm-up before the game.
They all looked dejected and sullen, even before kick off. I only mention it because of how things once were, with their smiley faces and camaraderie.
It seemed very...
It tells you something when even Alan Tonge starts to get angry and lost for words, as he did today.
The thing that really grates for me is that it is such a wasted opportunity. "Consolidate in League One", my arse!
Possibly also the few players left here that were involved in achieving it?? The new additions will have little or no knowlege of it so it won't mean the same to them anyway.
A long time ago, in early 2006, Paul Morrish launched his 'V10' vision (ultimately to see City in League One by 2010 (remember, we were still in the Conference - National League - at that point).
The 4 main points he made in his presentation were;
• Much of the Club’s culture was described as...
