Sad to see that Ron Baynham has passed away at the age of 94. Many will remember his 1959 FA Cup appearance for then (Old) First Division Luton Town at St James Park - Att 20,000. City went 1-0 up in the first half but ultimately lost 1-2. The game is more memorable to some for the x rated...
Meanwhile, back to the match....
I do feel sinisalo deserves a mention for his performance today, we would have lost by far more but for his efforts. He had little or no chance with those goals, and was unlucky with their first having performed heroics in keeping out the original shot. The best...
Meanwhile back to the match....
Why is it that when I see a player charging towards our goal in a 'one on one', I could put money on the opposition scoring a goal? It's happened a few games ago, it happened in our last match, and it happened v Fleetwood. I know you dont expect a keeper to do a...
I recall back in 1995, Administrator Peacock accepted a nominal sum of a pound for the settlement of outstanding money owed to Ivor Doble. Ivor thought long and hard about losing all of his money, but eventually agreed. I'm thinking that the people owed money at Torquay arent going to be quite...
There is a radical difference between Torquays situation and what we went through before the trust and the fans saved the club. We were in the hands of two villians who's only intention was to make as much money for themselves as they possibly could, they were running our club into the ground...
I wouldnt have thought Ilmari needed much consoling even if he did lose the ball. The shot that ensued was the sort your average weekend amatuer keeper would have dealt with comfortably. I cant fathom how people want to aportion blame on Ilmari, since the goal that followed was a flat out...
What the f#ck has bait got to do with it? Sinisalo let in a schoolboy shot for the first and was poor off his line for the second, then there was all the errors he showed! He had a very poor game which we might have got something out. You dont agree?
Say what you like about the quality of our outfield and what they could have achieved tonight, if GC had a proper back up keeper who's chomping at the bit to get a first team start, he would be selected for saturday following Sinisalos display tonight. Sinisalo looked poor and shaky throughout...
Sinisalo had a bad night. Badly at fault for their first, might have done better off of his line for the second. It was plain to see he was jittery; a fact I'm sure not lost on the Derby following behind the goal. I'm sure they were on his case throughout the second half. We were beaten by a...
You cant blame a defender for that goal. That shot from that distance should have presented a routine save from Sinisalo. That was a very poor goal from the keepers point of view, particularly given the fact that he would have seen the shot alll the way.
You're probably right about Argyles non participation, but we've had an excellent relationship with The Gulls over a long period. I wouldnt rule out doing something to help them. Mike Bateson made a wonderful gesture towards us when we were in financial dire straights. I feel we owe them in some...
Do we have to have the backdrop of the most inferior end of our ground? Surely any one of the three other sides of the ground would look better. Would like to see more emphasis on the word exeweb, I've never been a fan of that logo.
