Hope we’re not complacent for this one. Nathan Jones seems to have improved Charlton, which probably wasn’t hard considering the quality in their squad. Should be a good atmosphere and provided we play to our best, I can see us winning it to assure safety.
My first game was at home to Burnley, 18th Feb 1989. We won 3-0 and I sat in the old Grandstand with my mum and brother. Randomly, the whole game is available on YouTube and it was filmed from the OG, so it gives me a good perspective of what I’d have seen firsthand that day!
As for my first...
Have to say, I was harsh on Sonny earlier this season. After seeing him a number of times, I just didn’t think he had what it takes, particularly in L1.
In hindsight, thinking like that was pure lunacy! He was only 18/19 and thrown in the deep end due to our poor recruitment in the summer...
Nope. The club can exercise their option on a player, although, we will obviously have to meet the terms of that option. It’s possible that Jules negotiated a pay rise should we extend his deal.
Indeed, we’re not going to agree on the main point here. We’ve improved, had some pretty good performances (Barnsley, Rovers away, Wigan), some indifferent and yesterday seemed to be the worst of the bunch, although we weren’t good enough at home to Rovers and Cambridge, granted.
I do agree...
So if I am to take your original post literally, Peterborough are a crap team then? I agree we were poor first half, but even before the sending off, we played better in the second half and then did what was required to get a good win.
Carlisle was one of those games where we played ok, but got...
I’m not saying we’ve been in scintillating form but we have, for the most part, played pretty well lately and that’s shown in the results.
And who are the crap opposition we’ve scraped deflected goals against?
Poor result. The only consolation is that it’s the first poor performance for quite some time, so we know we’re capable of much better.
Luckily no game midweek so we will hopefully play our strongest lineup next weekend but it does feel like a must win considering our tough games immediately...
It’s weird, I felt really confident of a result at Barnsley and Wigan, but not feeling so hopeful today.
That said, if we keep our performance levels up and play on the front foot then no reason why we can’t get the three points, but I’d take a point tbh.

Of course, but difference being that Buffon was capped by Italy at u16 level by the time he made his debut whereas Harry Lee has been on loan at Dorchester, Plymouth Parkway and Salisbury.
