I don't know why, can you give me your opinion please?
It's worth noting (I did a one minute google) that the UK in 2022 had these figures a mildly interesting read for anyone I would suggest -...
In fairness, last time I was on the dole, I got £67 a week for rent, and £65 a week for living (this was 2010, immediately after finishing university) I had to pay roughly £10 a week towards my rent as it didn't cover it. As it happens, I had a job lined up so it was no issue, but not something...
IIRC I had 3 litres of Stonehouse Cider before climbing a tree and somehow not falling out of it, so my memory of the night isn't perhaps as good as it could be !
FWIW, my mum has never done a days work in her life and just looked after her children at the taxpayers expense. When I was about 10 and I noticed that her mental health was perhaps not very good, I asked why she didn't get a job (I was working at this age!) and at the time she said it wasn't...
Does breaking into the folk festival to watch Bad Manners count? I've had some quality nights out there funnily enough.
Sidmouth has bus links to the capital city of Devon, so no excuses re not getting a job. East Devon is teeming with jobs in comparison to South Devon
What about those that live in very rural areas and cannot drive. But also cannot afford to learn as they don't work? There's literally tens of thousands of these people dotted all around our green and pleasant land. The forgotten people.
I lived in Kingston in South Devon and this was a...
It's our tax that pays for this, so what do we do with a 20 year old couple with a child. The fella can't find a job. They've not earned enough to receive some back?
Should benefits be greater for those who've paid more into the system and don't have 16k in savings at which point they get...
Yep, anyone not working. Back in the day, these figures wouldn't have been a thing because families earned enough to live on a single wage. That largely isn't possible now.
Already happens, they just go out on the rob.
The countries with the best benefits systems, education and standards of living often have lower rates of economically inactive people.
Interesting that the yanks have caught up with the rest of the world and not vetoed the ceasefire resolution in Gaza.
Even Big Don Trump is even calling it out!
Everyone I know with a family in or near London earns well above 100k.
The only people I know earning less are grads at my work and their in house shares in places like Dagenham or Croydon.
According to statista the average wage in 2008 was £25,165 today it's £34,963. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1002964/average-full-time-annual-earnings-in-the-uk/
So not taking inflation into account, Art is wrong.
According to the Bank of England inflation calculator a salary of £25,165...
Whilst I agree, 12 months isn't long. It will take many years to sort the damage this country has been through. Politicians are only interested in doing for today, so there's no chance of any of it being resolved by anyone.
