...goalkeeper Jimmy Glass scored an injury time winner on the final day of the season to famously secure Exeter City's triumph as Devon's highest placed football league team.

Thank you Jimmy!

I can still remember the euphoria, as sadly finishing above that lot is pretty rare!

Fairly sure it was also the last competitive match in front of the old Big Bank, which is perhaps even more memorable from a ECFC historical perspective :)

Checking the records we beat Halifax Town 2 - 1 that day.

Yes Chris Curran scored an injury time winner and the Big Bank was demolished a few days later

The BB wasn't "demolished" as such, they just built over the top of it, to save on the costs of removing it and the associated landfill charges. Sadly this prevents us from installing a catering concourse and toilets underneath. :(

It has to be one of the most short sighted decisions in the clubs history.

Worse than building flats on the car park behind it?

That sounds a rather delayed (or very long) celebration. Not to mention a tad over enthusiastic.

Yep. At least that financed a new stand with integrated facilities.

Not really. The club hadn't even the pot to tinkle into at the time let alone the 50/50 vision to forecast the club would be ten trillion times better managed thirty years later. It was what it was
