Thinking out of the box here. During the busy period of HT, what if a few supporters were reimbursed their entrance fee/a % of their entrance fee to work over the HT period to help with the queues?
An interesting idea but.... in practice it wouldn't be 'the half time period' though. 'Half time' for many people begins about 30 minutes into the game, as is demonstrated by the number of people heading off from the BB down to Jungle Path for a fag and a pint about 3.30pm! Then they don't return until possibly 10 minutes into the second half, so in effect that's a half time of nearly 40 minutes! Who is going to give up that much of a game to help other people 'enjoy' their half time that bit more?

A lot of the problem is about the physical space there is to service the demand which is generated from the growing crowds. In an ideal world, the catering facilities would all be under the stands, with a concourse that provides the space for people to access the facilities. The catering huts would then be of a size that allows for multiple liness of queuing, with people serving, taking cash, prepping food etc. Sadly, the available space precludes this in many of our stands.

I gather that the club are looking into the feasibility of "click and collect" which may reduce queuing and may speed up the process of serving people. The club have also invested in new infrastructure at the ground to enable the Club to heat up more hot food than it was able to previously. These may help, but ultimately there is only a finite amount that can be done within the confines of our ground, which ultimately was badly designed!

Whilst I understand it, the biggest mistake was building the current Big Bank on top of the old. Imagine if we could have facilities under the current stand now. It would be a license to print money. Sadly, it is just not possible because of the decisions of the past.

People who work in the kiosks have to be vetted for various reasons (as are all staff who interact with spectators)

Not a serious suggestion at all, but what sort of cost would the club be looking at to re-do the big bank from scratch with relevant facilities?

Yep..That’s the major issue. Especially the ones for the Selco & BB.

As Martin posted, there are a few ideas for next season, whether they are practical long term solutions without a major revamp of the Kiosks layout remains to be seen.

What about opening the end of the new stagecoach stand at the jungle path for refreshments you could get rid of the kiosks in turn would make much more space

What would need to happen to allow fans to leave the Big Bank and go round to Red Square at half time? Could Stadium Way be closed off somehow to prevent ticketless fans entering the ground at half time? That way, the food and drink outlets in Red Square could help to deliver the half time refreshments.
