Tom really well done on this, I was wondering if this could qualify for some form of tax back on the donations as other charities have. I don’t know anything about it just a thought but if applicable could raise extra for the cause

Thanks GNH. Thats a good call. I’m not too sure either? Would anyone else know how this would work claiming back the tax? I’m guessing when you donate via the Just Giving website there will be an option for this?

Just a thought but, have you spoken to Elaine about using the name Grecian Goals in your idea title? Neither would want to get confused with the other of course!

Looks like the charity claim back but donors have to make a declaration https://www.gov.uk/claim-gift-aid
May need to liaise with JS (treasurer and podcaster) on this but seems to be worth 25p in the pound!

Ahh I wasn’t aware of another scheme. Will look into this…

To avoid confusion I have changed the name to Exeweb Goals. I hope the gods of Exeweb approve? Would the title thread be able to be changed to reflect this please?

I can't believe that you hadn't heard about Grecian Goals, it's been around for at least 15 years now! Elaine regulalry posts on Exeweb about GG and it is an excelllant fund raising scheme whereby, fans can make a pledge to pay whatever amount they wish for anything and everything. Not only goals scored but also from, a lack of ECFC yellow & red cards in a game to whether the opposing manager gets 'sent to the stands' or wears a tracksuit or jeans!

I’m afraid I’ve never heard of it before. Sounds like a very good scheme that has been going for a long time. Maybe this new scheme is too similar to that?
