Plenty of off track discussion making this full of intrigue. Will the result stand?

That was crazy. Michael Masi lost control of that.

In trying desperately not to do anything he succeeded in doing more than if he'd actually intervened in the first place.

What I find uncomfortable from what both Max and Christian Horner have said about their penalty today, is that both cars didn't make the corner. Max added that after Brazil where he received no penalty, why was he penalised this time? The fact that on both occasions, Lewis was in the outside and would have made the corner if there hadn't have been a) in Brazil, a Red Bull who braked too late and was arguably not interested in making that corner and b) today, a Red Bull that braked too deep and was under steering off the track in the way, seems to have passed them by.

And this from a team leader and driver who accused Lewis of everything under the sun at Silverstone when he missed the apex through under steer at Copse and clipped Max who had turned in anyway although he knew Lewis was there. Presumably they think Lewis should turn in and cause a collision?

I can take Max being aggressive where he dive bombs up the inside and makes the corner even if he doesn't give room on the outside, like in Barcelona and Imola for instance. Both times Lewis backed out to avoid collision. But now they seem to want Max to have the freedom of braking so late he doesn't make the corner himself as well as driving the other driver even wider without comeback?

Max is a terrific driver and in line to be one of the greats and is entertaining as anything. But there is going to be reckoning if Max continues to be indulged in this "well it's Max being Max and he is driving for the title" clause.

^ Understandable. Both Verstappen and Horner are a pair of weapons grade counts - they behave like spoilt brats and constantly whinge and whine when they don't get their own way. Neither are entertaining in the slightest, unless banger racing is your thing.

Particularly disliked Horner's comment about Max being half a second faster in the section that was dependent on the driver, but Lewis was faster in the section that depended on engine.

Ant's right, totally dislikeable set up and pairing. One can only hope that, as seems to be the case this weekend, the pressure has finally told on the spoilt brat, and he continues to implode.

Looks like a super fast version of Singapore.....gotta feeling it won’t be boring whatever happens.
Don’t think I was too far out with that prediction 😊 What a sensational race.
