This lad is playing for free for Maidenhead.

Surely worth asking if he would like a non contract here in the FL to try and give himself a proper shop window to get back to playing at professional level.

That Free advert by the BBC will sort him out no doubt.

He wouldn't play for us for free as it would cost him to move. The article also is ppoorly written. Especially claiming its unfamiliar league to him as he spent most of his career in the top two. Obviously didn't look at what happened at the beginning of his career.

As far as I can see, it doesn't actually say that- It says that it's "a world away from the life to which he had become accustomed", suggesting that he has become used to a higher standard over the last 10 years, which is true. The article also goes on to mention his first few clubs (after villa) and goes into detail about his time at Yeading... Seemed fairly well researched to me.

On the original point, he's only playing for free because he's mates with the manager and wanted to play somewhere he would enjoy it a little more for a while after everything that happened. No doubt he'll be at a L1 or Championship club (or similar standard abroad perhaps) one he finds the club he likes the look of. Actually sounds like he turned down a couple of offers before joining maidenhead.

Good on him for playing for the love of the game, as opposed to the money.
