I don’t think SISU are the owners now..A local business man, Doug King bought the Sky Blues, subject to EFL ratification.
SISU are still the owners at the moment and the timing of the King announcement was interesting. If he gets past the Owners and Directors Test is the move viable if he doesn't own the stadium? (nb - he put a bit in but too late)

Gut feeling is that he was given passage to the club only when SISU feared that Ashley would take over the stadium. The courts don't give him the stadium; so not sure how the club is a viable proposition. Equally don't see how/why a stadium that clearly isn't that viable would be worth Ashley's investment without ulterior motives on his part.

I think he wants the football club (and possibly to resurrect the rugby union side) but only as distressed assets. SISU are also trying to extract everything they can from an investment that has been a disaster for them (and Coventry).

Just my opinions/guesswork of course.

The whole stadium issue has been so destabilising for the football club. It must drive Coventry City supporters mad.
It's the stadium and the ownership - the former has almost taken a bit of the heat off the latter in the past few years. It would be really interesting to understand what has kept SISU Capital involved since their initial gambit failed, following their takeover fifteen years ago.

Nothing about Coventry City and their current predicament, but if you’re interested there’s a couple of articles, one of which is written by someone from the Pompey History Society, in the latest edition of When Saturday Comes.

Cheers Bridgy - I get it delivered but have to admit I don't always get to read thoroughly, so will make a point of doing so. (y)

Accrington vs Pompey has been called off due to a frozen pitch. Nice and early and very sensible.
