Have just tried to go Online and buy Lincoln tickets but it doesnt seem possible - is that because its all now all pay on the day?

Yes.

We take them offline around midday so we can do the main reconciliation for the away club.
Usually it's still possible to buy a bit later in the shop as we can then do a late amendment.

I didn't do the count myself so I'm not sure.

We did send some of the 700 back unsold so I'd guess at least a thousand of the nominal 2,000 seats available on the day.
