What's happened to Nicky Ajose this season as he looked a decent player for us and still has a 1 in 3 goal ratio overall. Is it like Doyle at Bradford where your system dosen't suit him or are there other reasons?

He played the first 8-9 or so games for us without scoring & looked to be possibly still struggling with the injury he picked up at the end of last season, when on loan at Mansfield. Our system, at that time, probably didn't suit him either. He then got 'properly' injured & was out for a long time. He's been back a few weeks & is starting to get his sharpness back & is beginning to look like the player you remember. Although we lost, he scored a poachers goal on Tuesday night. He will be crucial to our, hopefully, successful season now & we're hoping he scores tomorrow.
We're also hoping it takes a few games for Doyle & Yates to settle back into things.
Hopefully see you in Lge 1 next season.

That explains his lack of goals so hopefully for you guys he will hit a purple patch during the run in assuming he's not moved on this evening!

Good post and would love us both to go up and have a lot of time for Exeter fans after applauding the Carlisle fans on the pitch after you beat them in the playoffs a few seasons ago

You can tell he's quality, his movement off the ball is so smart . He really looks like he just needs a couple more games to find his groove and he'll be a proper handful. He's so hungry for goals..Here's to a great game tomorrow!!

Like you I thought he’d played more at the start of the season but checking back he only actually started three league games, one leasing game and made one sub appearance. He was pretty unimpressive in the league games he started so it was a relief to find out he’d been carrying an injury. As others have said he’s looked a completely different player since returning to the side and now has 3 goals from 4 starts, although 2 of those were in the leasing games.

Interesting signing last year by Matt and in the subsequent season, allegedly our Marquee signing, carrying an injury for a good part of the season, and now appears to be training with the development squad, and presumed to be one of the players Matt has suggested find another club (and not just by Banksy).

What has happened for this change of relationship, if it is true, between player and Manager. Was he given a three year contract as some have suggested. Was this a case of oversell by an agent on an inexperienced Manager. I hope not and I hope that he could come good but the signs aren't looking too promising, also last season in pre-match warm ups he always seemed to be aloof from the rest of the squad, so possibly not settling in, who knows but whatever let's hope it is sorted quickly for all concerned.
