An interesting game.....

Yep...My first experience of the 3rd Round of the FA Cup.
There had been huge interest since the draw had been made. It had been a interesting season in the cup competitions with Aston Villa playing at SJP in the League Cup 2nd round.

Worst experience that I have ever had at SJP, although a couple of trips to the Old Den in that era were even worse !

I remember the pitch invasion prematch from Wolves when they tried to storm the Cowshed via the pitch a few glass bottles were hurled into the Cowshed. The steep bank at the front meant they were easy pickings to be knocked backwards.

There was a fair bit a trouble that season at SJP. Plymouth in the League Cup on a Saturday, Portsmouth, Oxford, Cambridge. A few of the away games I went to were mad as well..Swindon, Newport & Oxford..Booted at Home Park. What a time to be 16. A mixture of fear & excitement.
