Footballers demand compensation over 'data misuse' - BBC News

This is interesting. I has vaguely wondered about whether players agree this data collection as part of their employment and who is responsible for ensuring it is accurate, but apparently not and no-one.

Under Article 4 of the GDPR, "personal data" refers to a range or identifiable information, such as physical attributes, location data or physiological information.
Presumably that means that any debate about the height of our glovesmen (past or present) is now sub judice?

worrying quote that a centre back is wrongly recorded on such data - in widespread circulation - as only 5 ft 7 when he's actually much taller.

Whatever can be done? Perhaps volunteer supporters can go round measuring players for whom height is essential and provide the details to the rest of us;)
