Wish him all the best. Listening to his interview it sounds like he realises what he almost lost for good & is therefore even more eager to succeed this time.

So what about the other trialists; have they not been so fortunate or or they still being assessed?

a couple of weeks back on the transfer thread I wrote

'according to contacts at Brentford he's talented but a bit Billy Big B***** and thought he'd already made it. If the penny drops therefore...'

So I reckon the interview is very promising. I also wondered then why GC - having had him as a player before - needed to see him as a trialist rather than offering a contract straight up. Clearly his work in what everybody says was a very demanding fortnight has persuaded the manager that Cole's attitude may now match his ability.

(I think I should also add that the information from Brentford 'takes a cracking free kick' made him sound a bit like a young James Ward-Prowse)

Didn't David Wheeler play for Hayes and Heading at one stage? Not bad footsteps to follow if right.

The penny drops late for some players.
James Norwood changed from a Billy B B when we let him go to a decent striker, but he was never a James Ward-Prowse.

Ollie Watkins features large in Reece's Twitter timeline – assume they were at Brentford together. If this is the case, then it's not inconceivable Reece might be a little bit more excited about joining City than one or two others might be.

As an aside, appreciate it's a few years since he left Brentford, and he may have matured in the interim, but he certainly doesn't come across as a Billy Big Bollox. Far from it.
