Devon Live are reporting early next week, what's the difference announcing today on the eve of a match against Fleetwood or on the eve of a match against Derby, or even on the day, same effect on KN and his preps, would also be better earlier bearing in mind their first match could be against the slime.
Same was said last week

It's disappointing its taking so long to appoint a new manager. We all understand the need to do our best to try and get the right person but it's been nearly 3 weeks since MT left. It looks bad from the outside. Either we're taking our diligence to new levels or the club is indecisive and disorganised.
Or neither? What if we interviewed some people, decided none were quite right, identified someone else and invited them to apply?

Frear Graveyard.
Poor that no one has been appointed yet.

I would take Razor with Nicholson as assistant at this point. The boys got passion and fire.

Devon Live get their info from sources like Exeweb so I wouldn't read too much into that. They don't have inside information from within the club.

Ready to be corrected but, as far as I can see, Bet Victor have taken down their 'next Exeter manager' market:
BetVictor
The only obvious reason for doing so would be because there's been so much money wagered on a single candidate that, as far as Bet Victor are concerned, it's a done deal. If that's the case then it seems to me the decision may have been made and, for whatever reason, the club are waiting to make an announcement.

This is a bit painful now. Really hope an announcement is made prior to the Derby game - and not the Devon Derby.

Could it be that it's Neal Ardley and we are sorting out a compensation payment, similar to when Matt left? So no official announcement until that is sorted.

Entirely conceivable though the individual in question mightn't necessarily be Ardley. If anyone who's a bit more IT savvy than me can track down the last prices put up by Bet Victor before the market was taken down then I reckon that might well provide a huge clue as to the identity of our new manager.

As I don't have the expertise to judge who would make a good manager for ECFC, my support will go to whoever is chosen.
If KN is chosen, then the appointment panel will have decided that he has the necessary attributes and that the recent poor results are due to the injuries to our defensive players and have been, largely, outside of his control.
Very rational analysis Rob. My only point of difference (as I will fully support whoever it is) is that despite me largely thinking that KN could keep us up this season I dont think he has the contacts for the necessary rebuilding of the squad that will be needed next season.

Quite possible but changing managers seems to have become a more involved process in recent years with individuals wanting to bring their own support teams with them and the additional problems that brings.
