Conversations with a killer : The John Wayne Gacy tapes. (Netflix)

A 3 part documentary about the Des Plains(Chicago) serial killer.
33+ victims, most buried under the void of his bungalow.

He appeared to be a pillar of the community. Mixing with politicians, Including passing Secret Service vetting to meet President Carters wife despite doing time in Iowa a decade before for a sex crime with a minor.

27th September 1977.

Dave Allen at Large ran for 5 series(33 episodes) between 1971-79 the first couple of series were on BBC2.
A great relaxed comedy style sat in a leather chair smoking a fag, with what appeared to be whiskey in a glass beside him.
Some funny satirical sketches featuring the Catholic Church and some of the hypocrisy surrounding religion, which was rarely aired in those days.

A very amusing raconteur. I particularly liked the way he portrayed drunks in his stories!

Re: Not the Nine O'Clock News - got the "Best of" DVDs, absolutely brilliant and launched several careers.

Re: Dave Allen - one of my all-time favourite comedians - again I've got a couple of DVDs of his stuff. I remember his series in the early 90s (only monologues, no sketches) where at one point in every show I'd be crying with laughter. His sketches were a bit hit and miss, but my favourite two were the one with the rival Catholic funeral processions, and the one where the drunk driver runs over the grim reaper.

Devised by the comedian Norman Vaughan who had earlier hosted another target based quiz show - The Golden Shot - for a couple of years.
