As a matter of interest, what do people think what style of football GC is trying to introduce?
A couple of sentences in reply, please.
Possession based, slow, methodical. Trying to walk the ball in.

Agree with possession but Gary himself has said he wants to increase the tempo of play in the final third.

“We aren’t a team that is used to having 60-65 per-cent possession and when you do get that, you have to understand that when you get in key areas in the field higher up the pitch, there has to be a change of speed and a change of mentality of ‘we are not just going to keep the ball for the sake of it, we are going to kill and hurt the opposition’"

Possession based starting from the back. Trying to control games with possession and patiently pick holes in the opposition.

Which would work quite well if Jevani was available to be the player to pick those holes.

Agree, but he's not available and he won't be with us next season either. If JB plays for us again it won't be for a while so the manager needs to find a way of getting us to score goals.

It's the reason McDonald was bought in, somebody with the confidence and ability to collect the ball from the back line in deep areas and build from there.

Fully expect McDonald to start next week…As for who else starts, not a clue!

But it is complete own goal of our own making. Who exactly is dictating that JB won't get selected before the outcome of the trial ? If we carry on toothless and as a consequence end up back in League 2 (having just spent ten years getting out of it), just who is accountable ? Is it GC flexing his muscles showing "who is boss" ? Is it El Presidente ? Is it a moral crusade by the Club Board, it would be nice to know ?
We haven't always had this attitude, David Noble was up on serious charges in Crown Court, yet not only was still playing but remained in his position as Captain? We even then subsequently signed him again despite knowing of his "drinking school" antics. There needs to be a through reappraisal of where our priorities lie, we are a bleeding football club FFS, and what happens on the pitch is where we should be judged, first and foremost.

Loving the free flowing entertaining football at S
Possession based football isn’t an issue if you have a cutting edge , possession based football when it’s sideways or backwards without ever really hurting the opposition which it was a bit like against Shrewsbury is actually pretty dull

Naturally Jevani Brown makes a difference as he breaks the lines and is the link between the midfield and attack that’s currently missing but that’s down to Caldwell to sort out-address I’m sure he will know how

I’m not 100% convinced by Caldwell yet but on the flip side I certainly don’t feel he’s done a bad job either I reckons it’s pretty clear that the squad and team will be a lot different next season, I’d imagine Jevani Brown , Key , Nombe and possibly Stansfield won’t be around and they will be massive losses but time will tell

Team that started against Shrewsbury only swap Jay for Nombe with Key at RWB
