Suspect that after Sunday, any proposed bid is dead in the water and would be a bit of a waste of everyone's time.

There's a strong argument anyway that a UEFA country should wait a bit longer given that Russia did 2018.

So long as the Uruguay/Argentina bid package is half-decent they should walk it, what with it being the centenary of Uruguay 1930.
Reports on the radio today that it was UEFA that organised and put on the event on Sunday and not the normal Wembley Stadium LTD…if true they must be having an enquiry into their own running of the day.

In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
The FA would be responsible for handling the game at Wembley,RD..UEFA would have very little input except for the KO time & the corporate freebies.Plus no doubt a cut of the admission receipts & stadium advertising too.

It’s a massive clusterfkcu for the chances of the British Isles albeit thin chance of hosting the WC in 2030.
The English FA are not liked that much in the rest of the football world anyway especially around FIFA,so any bid will now would likely follow the huge embarrassment of 2010.
It’s a real shame because the U.K. is one of the very few places with the Stadia & infrastructure to hold a huge event like a expanded World Cup.

Someone has screwed up big time.A estimated 1,000 to 2,000 got in without tickets with all of the serious implications that entails.

It seemed silly to me having the kick off at 8pm.

I expect that was for the maximum TV audience across Europe.

following through
It's always kicked off at that time. No other countries have had that problem

Worth a watch about the events off the pitch on Sunday.

A 2 game behind closed doors sanction from UEFA for the issues surrounding the Final.£100k fine as a bit of icing on the disciplinary cake.
1 game behind closed doors suspended for 2 years.

Looks like the FA have got off fairly lightly for the chaos on that day. It’s a moot point over who
was overseeing the security arrangements. The FA or the Met Police. Both blame each other.

The sanctions will probably have a terminal effect on the UK & Ireland’s bid for the 2030 World Cup.
