The Andora keeper was very poor, he might have done better with all the goals, if he'd sorted his positioning out! Evidently only 5'9" according to US commentary. That shouldnt really be a factor though, he was just generally poor. I hope Southgate figures that in with his summing up, a better keeper would have made all the difference to the scoreline.

I was in Germany for the World Cup in 2006. Got to see England's opening group match vs Paraguay in Frankfurt (won 1-0) and the vibe in the city that day was amazing. Frankfurt is the main international hub and fans from all around the world were in town that first weekend. We also had tickets for the round of 16 match if England came second in the group but typically (!) England won the group (it would have been Germany vs. England in Munich). However we somehow got in contact with some Germans (can't recall how) who had tickets for England's game in Stuttgart and were very happy to exchange. We won vs Ecuador 1-0. A great tournament and personally a fantastic experience.

I was also lucky enough to go to Portugal in 2004 for the Euros. Had tickets for England's final group game vs Croatia (won 4-2 I think) and the QF vs Portugal when we lost on pens (Beck's slip, Campbell's disallowed goal in extra time). Again another fantastic experience, essentially a beach holiday in a quiet seaside resort north of Lisbon and then every couple of days we'd head into Lisbon to watch the tournament. Brilliant.

In 2005 (I think) I did the US tour watching England vs the USA in Chicago followed by England vs Columbia in New York. We flew into Toronto and then clocked up approx 1,500 miles over a week or so in a hire car, taking in Niagra Falls on the way back to Toronto. The games were both a bit meh, but the experience was awesome.

Would certainly recommend following England if you get the chance, although personally, I wouldn't consider Qatar.
