We played well against a good French team and did not get the breaks with some of the decisions from the officials in the first half.

However, we did not score from open play and the two penalties were the result of some crass French fouls in the box.

Not disgraced but disappointing.

Played better tonight than against Croatia and Italy in the previous tournaments. Probably edged it on play and obviously the penalty will be hard to shrug off for Kane. It should have been the third penalty of the night for him. The ref was poor, especially the treatment dished out to Saka half of which he let go.

The French dug one out tonight and should go on to play Argentina in the final.

There were a lot of crass French fouls all night and not always punished. Possibly tells you a bit about the way the game was going that they felt the need to go that way.

Feel sorry for Kane, we were just about the better side tonight, ref was poor. Hope Kane recovers quickly, he’s a top player and a good lad.
