Redarrow's comment on how the strips are decided when there is a clash sounds plausible enough. There is a colour clash between Reading and Huddersfield Town (my team) on Monday and on the official website it was stated that Reading were designated as the "home" team by virtue of finishing third whereas Town finished fifth. So Reading will be in blue and white hoops, Town in either yellow and black or red and white (the red and white strip is a replica to commemorate 50 years since the England World Cup win with all sales of it going to Alzheimer's charity (Ray Wilson connection).

The one thing I do know for certain is that the teams are always listed alphabetically, hence Blackpool v Exeter City and Huddersfield Town v Reading.
