Ah was hoping he would play for the first team this year. Hopefully he gets a chance from Jan onwards.

I think he’s going to be one of the next young’uns to break through. He’s looked good in the friendlies by all accounts but hopefully this spell will give him vital experience and we can assess him in January.

It looks like Matt Taylor thinks that only Ben Seymour and Jack Sparkes are ready for the first team but there are plenty of others, including Joel Randall, who can't be far away from being in contention.

So still playing at the same standard he played at last season, with Tivvy. Like Smerdon, I would have thought he was better than this, particularly after his pre season displays, but the club clearly knows what it's doing with regard to developing young talent & if all goes well we can review in January.

He plays as an attacker, though when out on loan he has had spells as a wing back. Caught the eye in pre season, but still a long way from our first team. Six months regular men’s football could be the making of him.

A loan spell at Weston didn't work out too badly for the development of Watkins. Good experience for the lad

From what I saw against Swansea he’s a very exciting prospect going to be some player.
