Future with Flybe?

In view of further imminent changes at the top of the management structure at Flybe, I wonder whether this will affect the future of their sponsorship of the Club (or indeed Exeter Chiefs come to that). We appear to have grown used to taking it for granted that the deal initiated (I think) by Geoffrey Styles is an ongoing one, but I wonder in view of this and other rumours circulating about the future of certain parts of their operation whether we can consider that the deal for season 2014-5 is signed sealed and sorted. This is in no way meant to be alarmist, but is, perhaps something that the Club may need to think about (even if they don't any public utterances yet?)

If there are early indications that Flybe are likely to pull out then now should be the time to consider a naming rights deal. I have suggested to the club that a naming rights deal should be considered as one of twelve possible financing sources for the redevelopment. I think that a minimum of £1.5m (paid annually) could be achievable over a ten year period.

I wouldn't be banking on it. Glad to get out of those shares at a profit...

I have just reread my post and it should have read paid "as annual instalments" to achieve £1.5m over a 10 year deal.

I didn't mean with Flybe either Joe. The figure is one that was suggested by Ashley Donlan, managing Director of Empire Stadiums in a conversation that I had with about naming rights some years ago.

You'll find nowadays a lot of naming rights issues for stadiums tend to be fronts for the owners chucking in money through the back door. E.g. The Lamex (Stevenage), the One Call Stadium (Mansfield). And, er, the Etihad...!

Agreed, but aren't the FA looking at this?

The working group consultation committee supporters trust Arena. Beautiful.
