Another 2nd place in the Usher Hall, Edinburgh for The New Seekers with Beg, Steal or Borrow on 25th March. Luxembourg were the winners with ’Apres Toi’ Sung by Vicky Leandros. Eurovision that year was held in the UK because Monaco the winner the previous year did not have the infrastructure for the competition.
There were around 17 to 18 countries competing around this time only one from behind the Iron Curtain- Yugoslavia.

It got that way when it expanded from the late 1980s onwards.

13th May 1986.

The Australian film, Picnic at Hanging Rock(1975) gets its first airing on UK TV. Based on a novel written by Joan Lindsey in the late 1960s, some thought the film was a partially true story, but like the novel it’s fiction. A decent film iirc.
