Surely Caldwell should be able to try and change the game when it's in progress. We sat off in the first half and barely put in a tackle. We gave Mahogma the freedom of midfield. Second half we were tighter, quicker and more aggressive. Shouldn't take a half time team talk to see such basic improvements
But did we sit off and barely put in a tackle because Caldwell told them to, or because the players weren't playing well enough? This is presumably what prompted Pat Baldwin's much derided "you can't blame the manager" remark. But for the usual suspects everything bad is entirely Caldwell 's fault which does get a bit tedious...

The first half was pretty much us all season... The second half is not something we've seen since Opening day at Wycombe.

That was a game we should have won, with a bit more composure in front of goal,we could have wrapped up the game, but nonetheless it was a good point against a good side

Arguably the first half at Barnsley was as good if not better than Wycombe

Due to bad luck with injuries and sickness I have had to miss both today and the posh game at home. I have therefore vowed to give the rest of the season a miss so we are now officially safe lol

Why I said pretty much. Can't deny the good performances, irrespective of how irregular they have been. First half dreadful, 2nd half change things, really encouraging performance

It's only tedious because Caldwell and his team have given such regular reason for Exeweb posters to be fed up.

You'll remember that there have been times where some cried 'it's the players, not the manager' this season, right before Caldwell came out and blamed himself at the presser!

It wasn't about 'not putting a tackle in' though was it? When the ball went forward to a player only just in their half, no-one was pushing up to support them.We just sat there, holding our shape. That's clearly a directive from Caldwell and 'Perks'.
