We should be signing players on their footballing ability not just to make extra profits on replica shirt sales !

There is absolutely no excuse to not have the signings done and announced by 1st Jan. Everyone at the club should have been working non-stop to have the targets finalised.

We should not be hearing "we have a list of targets we are working on" at any point in January.

That's not how it works. Players and clubs will hold out for the best possible deal/offer so don't expect things to hot up until later in the month.

Players and agents.
They can have a frustrating tendency to want to weigh up the pros and cons of different offers for a wee while.

Having said that.

You are right in that there should have been some serious preliminary work going on the last few weeks.
Hopefully there has been and there will be some news on day 1 if not the complete gubbins.
