Agree, there was never a campaign but a very unhappy fanbase that in the end felt powerless.
You want the likes of me and you to have the power to sack the manager?
Jesus!! 😱

Until he achieves a promotion or wins a trophy then he can never be considered our most successful manager.
A few have given us a promotion but none maybe Godfrey aside have given us a lengthy period in the third tier.

No...but it felt like we weren't being listened to.

They'll still think that but football fans are a strange bunch. That Barnsley fan is still waiting at the train station for Sam Nombe to arrive.
I think Sam Nombe is still waiting for his train to arrive at Barnsley. Getting off at Rotherham was a mistake surely????

I think,, now the dust is settling, we can see the sale of Sam Nombe for 1.2 million, as an excellent piece of business even if it did reduce our striking options to virtually nothing.

I disagree, the club referenced the concern from the fans, we had press releases, fans forums and a video put out by our Trust Chairman explaining their plan, which was to back SGC in the January transfer window, which they did. Throughout, SGC and many players continued to give their weekly interviews where the fans frustrations were frequently referenced.

Other than sacking SGC, what would you expect to have happened as evidence that the fans were being listened to?

Assuming GC kicks on, still not a given, and moves on up the chain, we shouldn't underestimate the value of a 'giving managers time' USP.

Managing this club is going to be considered a real opportunity by many, despite the geography. Just have to maintain the recruitment methods and due diligence that has stood us so well for so long now.

Hindsight is great but I'd take the money over him staying. He wasn't the same after Jevani left. I hope it comes good for him and we've got some great memories of that promotion season. What we didn't reckon on was the great striker drought of 23/24

Never a million pound striker in a million years, we did extremely well to mug Rotherham off for that

Bloody loved Sam, me. But to get £1.2m for him with only a year left on his contract was a masterstroke by the board.
