It was a terrible performance (again) but a win is a win.
Southgate and his coaching team have been poor and so far very fortunate.
He and the squad need to up their game.
But we’re in the quarters so who knows?

Relax, it's Spain against Georgia. We can sit back and enjoy and hope Georgia get something

Lucky, and yet again Kane seems to think nothing is wrong.
How many different left backs did we have in that game? Someone has dropped a bolok by deciding that Luke Shaw was fit enough to take.
He'll probably only make one change again against Switzerland and that's only because Guehi is suspended
The bolok dropped wasn't deciding Shaw was fit but not taking either Ben Chilwell or Tyrick Mitchell to play in his absence. Not only is Trippier out of position, he isn't particularly in form either having had a pretty poor season at Newcastle.

Odds on that the first game England play well in in this tournament will be the one they lose.

Jesus that was a dreadful watch, we won and Bellingham scored a lovely goal but that’s about all we can shout about. More questions than answers but roll on Saturday, imo Switzerland one of the best sides in this tournament so far, a tough test awaits.

Dontcha just love a 94th minute long throw into the box and see what happens....?

As Graham Taylor famously said 'so long as the laws of football remain the same, the results of games will be determined by the outcome of set piece restarts'

I’m not sure his England career was particularly successful in that regard.

We were sh!te and we were bloody lucky. For all whatever Southgate has done before, he currently cannot see the bleeding obvious even if you showed him with an ABC book of basic football management skills. There is going to have to be some kind of massive leap of faith by him for us to get past Switzerland.
