It could but if the limiters are set too high then you can have feedback, distortion and potential speaker damage.
Also the shouting would be at even higher volume - not pleasant.
The PA is tested regularly for clarity and volume so good mic technique really is the answer.
You’d have thought mic technique would be a given for someone who takes up the role!

To be fair when he shouts 'your Exeter Grecians' it cringes me out big time so happy not to hear it!

So it sounds like someone at the club should be talking to the PA chap. Its a bit odd that its happening now, as it seems to have been fine all season.

Has there not been a change recently. Chap's voice sounds different from earlier in the season

Pete, don't forget to take your medication again because it sounds like you need it. The Carlisle player couldn't have hit any better if he tried, first time and it went in like a bullet as close to the post as he could get it without actually hitting the post all along the deck.
he’s a solid keeper who hasn’t let us down and certainly kept us in some games , away to fleetwood it would of been 8-0 if it wasn’t for him.

but that’s twice now he’s been beaten at his near post in games i’ve seen , Fleetwood away although he played well & Carlisle home where i feel he should of done better or saved them.

yes the lad struck it well along the grass but near post….that’s a keepers bread and butter

not a big deal as he’s arguably the least of the problems.

Just because he was beaten at his near post doesn't automatically mean he should have saved it. That is really an old goalkeeping myth. The one at Fleetwood he might well be disappointed with, the one on Saturday he had no chance with. We were right behind that shot on the bank, as soon as Butterworth struck it pure, it was in. Only a defender blocking it was keeping it out.

If you ever have the chance watch or listen to Ben Foster's podcast where he talks about comments by pundits about keepers being beaten at their near post. To summarise he hates it. Basically he says keepers have less time to react to near post shots than far post ones so they are harder to save.

Thats because the majority of them have been back defending, he just needs to calm down a bit! He even does it on the rare occasion that we are winning. He's a good shot stopper but a keepers role nowadays is a lot more than that!
When the opposition attack breaks down Sinisalo immediately looks for the opportunity to launch a counter attack. Our attacking players have become so accustomed to our defence playing tippy tappy they have mostly forgotten that they need to do the same.

Heard that and found it interesting - @PeteUSA, worth a listen.
