The tackle by Purrington (I think it was him) was sublime. We didn’t play the conditions well second half - should have learnt from Charlton’s mistakes in the first 45 yet we still kept over hitting balls. Harris should have scored ffs - the lad is on Fulham’s books and gets in the Wales Squad. No excuses

Fair result.
The Harris chance...Aitchison got a slight touch which caused him to break stride and lose the path of the ball.

Frustrated, we should have won that comfortably but we're to busy trying to score the picture book goal. Sometimes the best opportunity is the one that presents itself in the first instance not the one you think you might create one or two passes later. If the ball falls to on the edge of the box with a half reasonable sight at goal take the responsibility and pull the trigger.
Reading that I just keep thinking about that chance where the ball sat up for Carroll perfectly and he had about 10 minutes to hit it and then decided to stand there like a plank and lose it.

Frustrating to say the least!

Played 40 games now and scored 34 goals, seems like our problem is so obvious but somehow insoluble.

With Harris chance, are you on about the one where Aitchison went to go for it and then pulled out very late when he realised Harris was coming in behind him?

Purrington and Woods excellent. Otherwise, we were pretty average other than the first 10 when we started so well. It’s an ok point and Charlton should really have nicked it at the end.

It really isn't. We should be five points clear of Charlton. They weren't very clever. They overhit most every cross field lump they hit and we were comfortable in dealing with them.

We lost momentum after scoring. You can't sit back at 1-0!

That's the tactics. Invite teams on and play on the break

One of those games where if you swap our forwards for theirs you have a decent team. We just needed a second goal to kill the game off as they carried a threat up front despite their very direct approach relying more on pressure and mistakes than any creativity. We played some decent stuff early on and in spells for the rest of the game, easily getting in to dangerous positions around the penalty area but lack that cutting edge in execution.

Woods and Carroll controlled the midfield and linked defence to attack well. The back three were solid, Purrington was excellent and we missed the balance and control he gave when he had to go off. Yan was a proper threat this afternoon down the left and Ilmari had another industrious game down the right.

I think you can see things starting to fall slowly into place from the back to midfield. The final third, the penalty area really, is the final piece to sort out. Finding a way to be more effective and clinical around the penalty area. That will be a work in progress into next season.
