Didn't see the game but I've thought for a while we are a defender short of being a very good side. People talk of wanting Aaron Martin back but I'd much rather have Troy Brown. He was a true ball winner and didn't lack pace for a L2 CB.

We are rapidly becoming the 'old' West Ham of the lower leagues - great academy but can't defend !
Question is do we want to win 4:2 or 1:0 ?

Can't defend, but all our summer budget on new players went on defenders.

I thought Atangana looked alright and hope he was rested to be fit for Saturday. Adds a bit of height strength and composure to our midfield. I like Hartridge too but possibly cos he's an academy buay, wonder if Seymore would have put away that Ajose chance. We should have won it!
I'd say probably not. Not because he'd miss like Ajose necessarily, but because I doubt he'd have been in the place that Ajose was to receive the ball in the first place. For me Seymour's positioning and reading of the game needs work. It's frustrating because I'd really like to see him do well.

To quote MT. You defend as a team.

Few shots from my perch tonight. Some good social distancing going on. Was it snowing a bit during the first half or was it just big rain? Enjoyed the game. Could have won it. Disappointed with the 2 one on ones, but onwards and upwards. Glasses steaming up too much with the face covering. Must wear contact lenses next time.

In general, yes. However, Danny Rose was unmarked to nod home their first goal from a corner and their second came when, rather than put his boot through the ball, McArdle watched on and allowed the ball to bounce on the edge of the box. So, while I agree that you ‘defend as a team’, unfortunately, doing so doesn’t mitigate against individual errors.
