I know it sounds daft but I wait until I'm tired before going to bed. If I go too soon I'm t*ssing and turning all night, but if wait until I'm ready, I'm out like a light.

Never done this before
If it's serious, go to your doctor.

I was an insomniac for years, used to lie awake at night, thinking about work, thought it was work-related stress and tried to ignore it, finally went to my doctor who discovered a physiological cause that is now controlled by medication. Still look like I haven't slept for weeks but now sleep the sleep of the just, me.

Antony, if you dont mind me saying so, you're generally to be found on here most nights between 1.00 - 1.30 AM. Why dont you wait until 1.00 AM before you go to bed, and be done with it? You'd be out like a light in no time. The missus might not be all that chuffed, but you do need your kip.

I used to go to bed at midnight but struggle to sleep for an hour or 2 so now i go to bed at 1.30 and am asleep within 15 minutes....so try going to bed a bit later or having a bath before going to bed helps.
