Possibly the bit of string telephonically linking the two spam cans temporarily not providing full internet connectivity?

Cows on the line
I have a couple of 1960's Signal Box Registers from St Erth in W. Cornwall which includes a report of "Cows on the Line". Followed soon after by "Dead Cow on line" ! :(
A more amusing entry refers to a Paddington train arriving and being duly signalled onwards to the next box. This is followed by an entry that the signalman had been informed that there was no guard on the train, seeming left on the platform at Camborne, and he was now chasing the train to St Erth in a taxi ! The forwarding of the train was duly cancelled and noted that Plymuff Control had been informed ! Oops. :p
