A number of sleeping members but leading lights were Steve Perryman, Joe Gadston (former player and close friend of Steve P) and the current Chief Executive. So control of the club was secured without the need to put in any of their own money as we all did the job for them :)
Rather like them wanting to buy a lovely old Manor House that needs major restoration, but then allowing the National Trust to buy it before they then move in and do as they please. Oh, and meeting with the National Trust every 6 months to give them a state of the house speech.

I know someone who saw the business plan produced by the consortium at the time - they said it was like it was written by a 10 year old.

I think I'd be happy with us being simply described as 'high-flying', rather than 'struggling'. Sadly, I suspect that'll be more likely to happen in non-league football in the foreseeable future.
