it does look as if this crop (the under 16s)may be the best yet. A great unbeaten record but without playing its best players - Ethan Ampadu (playing for the first team and international football for higher age groups) and Jack Sparkes (playing regularly for the under 18s)

That's it. Valiant effort by the youngsters, but Rovers run out the winners.

Backing Gary Caldwell, thanks Matt and good luck.
Just got back in. City started very well and were well on top for most of the first half. Not a lot of clear chances but probably should have been at least two ahead. Could see that they were trying to get the ball down and play, rovers were a bit more physical and direct but didn't look a threat until they got in down our left late in the half to level. Rovers took the lead early in the second half and to be fair they improved and deserved it on their second half showing. We seemed to struggle to impose our game on them once behind, and rovers had a few good chances on the break to increase the lead. They hit the bar and city keeper made a few saves. We had a couple of good openings and the odd chance but it just didn't quite fall right for us. Our delivery from corners probably let us down , but I enjoyed the match.

The pick of the players was our number 11 sparkes who looked good on the ball. There was disapointment at the final whistle, but I think the group shows promise if they can progress.

Shouldn't this be the news we should REALLY be celebrating?

Maybe, just maybe, even more off the possible big bucks production line?

The teams now split in to two merit tables, we'll be in the top group. We play each team once.
