That deal will take him to almost 26 years old. He just needs his agent to get him one more contract somewhere after that and he will have made a good career from, so far, only being a promising prospect at Hull City.James Scott

St Mirren's wording is surprisingly definitive 'joins permanently in the summer on a 2 year deal' - it does read as if there is already an enforceable agreement in place for the 2 years from the summer.

I'm not actually sure how he's made a decent career out of being a footballer. Is it really all down to Hull making a mistake and paying over a million for him? That deal will take him to almost 26 years old. Not necessarily the case, we have two Luton lads on loan with us, one being their U21s captain, but they are still young lads learning the game so wont always get in the team when points are precious over established non-league players - remember, the standard at the levels we are talking (NL Step 2 or 3) isnt "pub football", theres very good players in there and teams with good budget and good crowdsI'd have hoped that L1 players out on loan at those levels would be tearing it up and the best players on the pitch- as it is they often don't seem to start...
Our lads are getting loaned to 7th or 8th tier compared to 3rd tier from prem sides. Really should be getting more than a few minutes at the end really…we seem to play Harris regardless of how good he isNot necessarily the case, we have two Luton lads on loan with us, one being their U21s captain, but they are still young lads learning the game so wont always get in the team when points are precious over established non-league players - remember, the standard at the levels we are talking (NL Step 2 or 3) isnt "pub football", theres very good players in there and teams with good budget and good crowds
It doesn't always work that way. Joel Randall for example had a very patchy loan record but it didn't stop him going on to be a million pound player. They aren't L1 players yet, if they were they would be playing regularly in L1. They are developing players just coming in to men's football and gaining experience. Our lads are getting loaned to 7th or 8th tier compared to 3rd tier from prem sides. fair play, appreciate you've seen a lot more of that level than myself. does beg the question why we've placed so much store in luke harris though doesn't itIt doesn't always work that way. Southern League football isn't easy, it's very physical and takes some getting used to for those stepping up from youth football. I have seen quite a few loanees at Tiverton this season from various clubs, including a couple from Bristol Rovers. One took a while but eventually started to look good. The other one looked way out of his depth. Mitch looked good when he played but didn't really fit in with what Tivvy wanted at the time. Their best loan players have actually been more experienced players from NL South sides. Last season though Ed James was very good for them after a patchy start.
