FFS

Essex were 122-6 when I went into a meeting and we are now 126-7.

Porter and Cook destructive.

Pitch inspectors racing to the ground ?

128 all out

Essex 6-0 at stumps due to a Davey no ball that went for four more runs 🤷‍♂️

They should calm down when Essex get a good score in the second innings.

Well, the East Saxons crumble to 138 A O., leaving the West Saxons two and a bit days to either
a) "Bish-Bash" at 0.05 run a over to chase a win
or
b) Dig in an try and protect their 10 wks for an extremely protracted (and unexpected) draw.
UPDATE
75-1 as I type - 92 needed. Fingers still crossed but I suspect Essex have already booked Advance Saver Tickets for His Majesty's Pitch Inspectorate from Paddington to Taunton...just in case.

What a thrilling finish. Job done with just 3 wks to spare ( but with the fourth innings score being the highest of the match no point-score chickens being counted just yet - I hear the train carrying the official Chelmsford Pitch Challenger has only just passed Castle Cary.)
Nevertheless, who says that the "longer-form" game is boring eh?

I was there yesterday, great win , good knocks from Renshaw , Dickson, Umeed and Banton saw us over the line . The 75 opening partnership won us that , if we had been 30-3 we were not winning that game .
The pitch inspector was there at lunch looking closely at the pitch . It didn’t have any uneven bounce or was it dangerous so can’t see much happening in that regard .

Looking at those highlights, I'm wondering if Porter gave Dickson a send-off.
