For years we had the same sentence in every published guide to ECFC:

"Most capped player: Dermot Curtis (1)." It never changed.

Never mind if it's 2 minutes off the bench, never mind if Niskanen does nothing, these international appearances are riches we could only dream of. I don't even know who our most capped player is any more*, and in any case it'll be somebody else soon. What a team of Galacticos.

How many times has been said before: 'takes time for new players to bed in to a new club that may well play in a different way to what your used to'. Countless initial signings in times past not looking up to it and then, hey presto, they look the real deal.
