As our only academy starter yesterday (I think without checking) it is a big problem for me. We are pretty much down to Cox now (Diabete not a first choice every week) and many are saying we need a couple strikers in the next window.

That record of having an academy graduate every week is going to end next season which is a massive shame.

Give me Hartridge who could still generate some money if Caldwell developed him over Aimson who won't make us a penny.
Noticeable that in the last 8 games we have had only 1 academy graduate starting each game - but 3 different ones.GC has persisted extensively with Cox until Hartridge is brought in to plug a gap. It's almost as if continuation of the record is affecting selection.

As much as a like Hartridge and his obvious strengths I can't imagine he would be an attractive signing for any club with an eye on promotion to the Championship. I hope he stays here.

well if it is 'affecting' selection it appears to be having a very positive impact!!!!!

People were saying at Cheltenham yesterday that Hartridge to Rovers is a done deal.
Are these people the same ones that said Hartridge was leaving in January, or the ones that said Rankine won't kick a ball for us again during his injury and our bad spell?

He may well leave this summer and possibly to join Rovers but its certainly not a done deal. What happens if he has a major injury before the season ends, what if MT gets the chop, what if we offer him a record breaking contract, what if a Championship club come in for him? So many variables that can affect the outcome. Done deal my @rse.

He’s third choice for us on left side of defensive 3. Putting sentiment aside I’m not sure we need him to stay.

He's third choice, deservedly, on recent form. Put all three contenders playing to the top of their game, Alex is first choice for me.

The reality is he’s 25 and still not consistent. The other 2 rarely have howlers.

I didn't say I agreed; indeed there's many a slip and all that, though I doubt your last two points. As Ant Moxey says, it's all rumour until it's announced.

But there was some raising of eyebrows when the team was announced as the fact that he hadn't played for months or even been on the bench recently was unsurprisingly on many minds. Personally I expected Chieck to play and Alex to be sub, but maybe balance of left and right footed players swung it.
Saturday's team selection will be interesting. "It's a good problem to have"
