But there are times when quantity beats quality, it's just a fact.

No it isn't. Only the poor would subscribe to such a view, which given your location kind of proves my point.

What about when scoring goals in a game of football?

Not difficult when conversing with the rain man, unless you want to play blackjack.

Nice retort. Done with your classless class comments?

On hiatus.
So, what's happened to carveries in recent times? They used to be an excellent combination of good value and good food. Granted, it's been (quite) a wee while since I've been in the munching out fraternity, but I get the impression here that they've sunk towards the level of canteen fare.

Funny you should mention that, was thinking back to a visit to a Carvery in the Chaddesden area of Derby. An 'eat as much as you like' affair where the locals were returning to tables with overloaded plates dripping gravy on the carpet.

If you manage to find a good carvery, thinking The Star Inn (before it was revamped, sadly) in East Sussex, it really was a treat.

Chaddesden isn't top of Derby's places to visit - there are much nicer areas.

Best carveries in Derbyshire are in the village pubs.
