I personally don't like pitch invasions, but I understand people have the right to do as they please. I personally don't get the need for them.
Hopefully any allegations are found to be false or a storm in a tea cup. I wish fans could just celebrate and enjoy the win. not goad, throw stuff at or intimidate the away fans.
To be fair the lack of stewarding was a joke especially in the last 5 minutes where you could clearly see people massing at the front to run on the pitch.

This particular point is a one-off and will presumably be less on an issue in future seasons as the bulk of the away fans, and certainly the "singing section" ones, will be standing in the area of the Barnet terrace behind the goal.
Sorry to essentially post again to say the same thing but it simply isn't true that people gathered around the tunnel for the players.

The majority of the players were on the other side of the pitch near the half way line celebrating.

Several hundred City fans surged straight towards the Lincoln fans, running straight past all the players, giving the big "I am" and had absolutely no interest in any of the City players or the tunnel.

I witnessed several objects thrown at the away end, several Lincoln staff members taunted/goaded and a lot of abuse aimed at Lincoln fans. It was pathetic and as I stated earlier I simply cannot understand why anybody after a result like that would be motivated to run the length of the pitch to taunt away fans rather than celebrate with our own players.

Again, as I stated, we should be sad that our captain had to escort the Lincoln kit man down the tunnel rather than be able to celebrate a great result with his team mates.

As far as I'm concerned the pitch invasion is fine but please let's not pretend that the mass of people that collected around the tunnel were all there for the players when that very obviously was not the case.

At the risk of being accused of being boring I think it actually says something quite sad about society and a section of football fans that they would want to taunt or intimidate fellow football fans who will already be very disappointed at having seen their team lose a big game. All very strange behaviour to me. I don't think fans should be quiet and polite but showing a little human decency shouldn't be too much to ask but clearly was for some last night.

I was sat right next to the Lincoln fans (and the City players not in the matchday squad) so saw everything clearly.

My point was that the unpleasant confrontation you describe shouldn't happen again as next season onwards the vocal away fans will be relocated behind the goal so there will be less opportunity for confrontation overlapping with the tunnel and benches.

I suspect, not for the first time, you're seeking confrontation where none really exists.

People on this thread that I personally know, and would therefore trust their judgement implicitly, have had their say about the kit man incident to suggest the assault did happen. I wasn't there, I haven't seen footage backing this up, I cannot therefore judge personally.

IF it turns out the kit man was assaulted, therefore, I hope the culprit is identified and banned, etc. etc.

Better? :)
If i disagree with you - and we do disagree on almost every subject - it doesn't mean I'm seeking confrontation. We mustn't assume the bloke was assaulted - the majority of posters actually think he wasn't. And because you know someone it doesn't mean they are more reputable. If you make sweeping statements then I am obliged to contest them. I've told you before, if I didn't respect you as a poster I wouldn't bother responding to your posts, we just always disagree.

Whilst I agree with you re the fans goading Lincoln fans and there were at least 40-50 of them, there's a video on Devon Live that clearly shows that the majority of fans were indeed congregating around the tunnel and paying no attention whatsoever to the away support. Plus some who were facing the away fans were applauding them. I don't want to excuse the behaviour of some of our fans or pretend I understand or support that attitude, but the video evidence simply doesn't back up the picture you're painting with your post.

I thought I'd test this out.

I counted three posters who attested to the kit man looking shaken up, escorted down the tunnel, etc. Without coming out and saying he was assaulted, by implication there was the suggestion *something* had happened.

I counted one poster who said it didn't happen, then changed his story to claim it did happen but it was in retaliation. Incidentally, said person by implication clearly witnessed it and knew who it was that did it. I assume they will therefore provide the club with a statement to this end, naming names (if known) and furnishing them with the full details of the incident (including the original trip on the person who retaliated by the kit man).

I counted one who said it didn't happen outright.

Most didn't comment on whether the kit man was assaulted, rather were talking about the pitch invasion in general.

Saw it all unfold. A handful of young looking clowns raced towards Rhead and there was some pushing and shoving. One of their managers came rushing back out and protected his players. A fair amount of jostling.

Huge majority were just enjoying the win!

Imagine it'll be easy enough to identify the plonkers.

Can you remind me of the two who saw someone assault the kit man?
