So I am a Caldwell fan, in general. BUT I don't feel sorry for him to not being able to buy every player he wants.It’s not an aversion to any player useful in the box Max , my guess is it’s spending a fee for them.And unfortunately you can’t get good strikers for tuppence.I feel sorry for GC , certainly knows what he wants apart from being able to buy them , and I’m not going into where the money we got in for players is being allocated or whether it’s in instalments or whatever.Frustrating , but that’s City and I guess always will be.Sometimes you think , so near yet so far…….
There's a quality/quantity balance to be had. My hunch is that we've leaned too far towards quality, spending heavily on fewer high quality players, leaving little budget for back up.
Every manager can identify quality targets, but the real skill is putting together the best possible quality squad, not the best possible quality starting XI.
